- Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) - It is widely used to unclog sinks. It is commercially known as caustic soda. In industry, it is used for soap making.

- Magnesium hydroxide (Mg (OH)2) - Used as stomach antacid to relieve heartburn in the stomach, ie excess hydrochloric acid.

- Calcium Hydroxide - (Ca (OH)2) - Called hydrated lime, unlit lime or extinct lime. Used in construction to prepare mortar and also used in paintings. This base in water is called lime milk or lime water.
