Dipole dipole

This intermolecular interaction can also be called dipole-permanent or dipolar.

It occurs in polar molecules. It is less intense than hydrogen bridges.

When the molecule is polar, there is on one side a more electropositive atom and on the other a more electronegative atom.

It is set so that the negative end of the dipole of one molecule is oriented toward the positive end of the dipole of another molecule.
